## 🧾 Description (Flavour)
When the two blades were joined, the moonlight did not brighten — it deepened.
Eclipse of Lunaris is a slender longsword of blackened silver and pale crystal, layered like flattened scales. Blue moonlight runs along one edge; the other drinks light into amethyst-dark veins. Its fuller resembles a draconic eye stretched down the blade.
In darkness, it does not glow.
It watches.
The blade hums faintly when magic moves nearby — not with sound, but with pressure.
## 🌙 Arcane Focus
Eclipse of Lunaris may be used as a **spellcasting focus**.
When Ellette deals damage with this weapon or a spell cast using it as a focus, she may change the damage type to **radiant, force, psychic, or necrotic**.
## 🌑 Dark Moon Traits
### **Dark-Moon Edge**
_Once per turn_, when Ellette hits a creature with Eclipse of Lunaris, the attack deals an extra **1d6 force damage**.
If the target is concentrating on a spell or magical effect, it has **disadvantage on the saving throw** to maintain concentration.
### **Moon-Scaled Guard**
While wielding Eclipse of Lunaris, Ellette gains a **+1 bonus to AC**.
### **Gravitic Hunger**
When Ellette reduces a creature to 0 hit points with Eclipse of Lunaris or a spell cast using it as a focus, she may immediately:
- Move up to **half her speed** without provoking opportunity attacks, and
- Regain hit points equal to her **Charisma modifier + the creature’s CR** (minimum 1).
## 🌙 Moonblade Core – Charges
Eclipse of Lunaris holds **4 charges**.
It regains **1d4 charges** after bathing in moonlight for an entire night.
### **Wave of Blue** _(1 Charge)_
As an action, Ellette swings the blade and unleashes a crescent surge of moonlight.
Creatures of her choice in a **15-foot cone** must make a **DC 14 Dexterity saving throw**, taking **4d6 radiant damage** on a failure, or half as much on a success.

# 🗡️ Moonblade Rune Properties
### **Vorpal Sword**
When you roll a **20** on an attack roll with Eclipse of Lunaris against a creature that has at least one head, you cut off one of the creature’s heads. The creature dies if it can’t survive without the lost head.
A creature is immune to this effect if it:
- is immune to slashing damage,
- doesn’t have or need a head,
- has legendary actions,
- or is too massive for decapitation (DM’s discretion).
If the creature has legendary actions, the attack instead deals an extra **6d8 slashing damage**.
### **Critical Mastery**
Eclipse of Lunaris scores a **critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20**.
### **Moonblade Edge**
When you hit with an attack using Eclipse of Lunaris, the attack deals an extra **1d6 slashing damage**.
### **Blinding Moon Flash** _(Recharge: Short Rest)_
As a bonus action, you cause Eclipse of Lunaris to flash with brilliant moonlight.
Each creature of your choice within **30 feet** that can see the blade must succeed on a **DC 15 Constitution saving throw** or be **blinded for 1 minute**.
A blinded creature may repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
### **Defender**
At the start of your turn, you may transfer any amount of Eclipse of Lunaris’s +3 bonus to **AC instead of attack and damage rolls**, until the start of your next turn.
For example, you may choose:
- +1 to attack/damage and +2 to AC
- +0 to attack/damage and +3 to AC
### **Ring of Spell Storing**
Eclipse of Lunaris functions as a **Ring of Spell Storing**.
The blade can store up to **5 levels of spells** at a time. Any creature can cast a spell of 1st–5th level into the blade, provided the spell targets only the caster.
Ellette can cast any stored spell from the blade without providing material components.
### **Elf-Shadow Summons**
As an action, Ellette may call forth an **Elf-shadow**, provided she does not already have one summoned.
The elf-shadow appears in an unoccupied space within **120 feet** and uses the statistics of a **Shadow**, with the following changes:
- Alignment: Neutral
- Immune to effects that turn undead
- Does not create new shadows
Ellette controls the elf-shadow. It remains until reduced to 0 hit points or dismissed as an action.

## 🧠 Sentience
Eclipse of Lunaris is a **sentient neutral good weapon** with:
It communicates through emotions, pressure, visions, and dreams.
It embodies two instincts in equilibrium:
**Preserve what must endure.** **End what threatens it.**
