_Staff, legendary (requires attunement by a druid)_ The staff no longer merely glimmers. A true night sky lives within it. Tiny stars burn in impossible depth, slow constellations wheeling through the wood like reflections on black water. When its bearer enters Starry Form, gravity itself seems to soften around them, and thin lines of light briefly sketch unknown constellations across the air. ## Magic Staff - This staff can be used as a **magic quarterstaff** that grants a **+3 bonus to attack and damage rolls** made with it. - While holding the staff, you gain a **+3 bonus to spell attack rolls and to the saving throw DCs of your druid spells.** - While attuned, you gain **resistance to radiant damage** and **advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.** ## Heart of the Stars (Ascendant) While you are in a **Starry Form**, the staff fully awakens and grants additional benefits based on the constellation you choose. ### 🏹 **Archer: Voice of the Falling Heavens** While you are in **Starry Form (Archer)**: - The ranged spell attack granted by your Starry Form deals **3d8 + your Wisdom modifier radiant damage**. - When you hit a creature with that attack, you may cause **starfire to arc** to up to **two other creatures** you can see within 20 feet of the target. Each must succeed on a **Dexterity saving throw** against your spell save DC or take **2d8 radiant damage**. - Once on each of your turns, when you deal radiant damage, you may **push or pull** the target up to **10 feet** (your choice). ### 🌿 **Chalice: Font of the First Light** While you are in **Starry Form (Chalice)**: - When the Chalice constellation allows you to restore hit points, you can choose **up to three creatures** to receive the additional healing. - Any creature healed by this feature gains **temporary hit points equal to twice your Wisdom modifier**. - In addition, the first time a creature would be reduced to 0 hit points while within **30 feet** of you, it instead drops to **1 hit point**, and the Chalice constellation immediately restores hit points to it as if it had just triggered. (This protective effect can occur once per long rest.) ### 🐉 **Dragon: Avatar of the Cosmic Wyrm** While you are in **Starry Form (Dragon)**: - You gain a **flying speed of 30 feet and can hover**. - You have **advantage on all Constitution saving throws**, and you are **immune to being stunned while concentrating** on a spell. - You may concentrate on **two druid spells at the same time**, provided at least one of them is **5th level or lower**. If you fail a Constitution saving throw to maintain concentration, you lose concentration on **both** spells. ## Stellar Aegis: Mantle of the Firmament While you are in a Starry Form, when you or a creature you can see within 60 feet takes damage, you can use your reaction to reduce that damage by **3d6 + your Wisdom modifier**, and you may teleport the protected creature up to **30 feet** to an unoccupied space you can see. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your **Wisdom modifier (minimum of once)**, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. ## Crown of the Living Sky Once per long rest, while in Starry Form, you can use a bonus action to fully unseal the staff for 1 minute. For the duration: - You gain **truesight 60 ft**. - You can **change your Starry Form constellation at the start of each of your turns** (no action required). - Once per turn, when you cast a druid spell or make the Starry Form attack, you may **treat any 1s on radiant damage dice as 8s**. When this state ends, you gain **one level of exhaustion**, and the stars within the staff dim to embers. ## Lore Legends claim that when a Staff of the Living Constellation fully awakens, it is no longer bound to the sky above, but to the **true firmament beyond the planes**, the star-sea that existed before gods learned to name it. Some druids believe such a staff is not an item at all. It is a **map**. And maps can be followed.
