![[Yvette.png]] **The Carpenter of Alexandria** Yvette was born in a small village nestled at the edge of the Timberhowl Forest, a place where the trees grow tall and the winters bite harder than a wolf’s jaw. Raised by her grandfather, a retired soldier turned woodsman, Yvette grew up splitting logs and shaping wood before she could read. Her hands learned the language of grain and bark long before the Common tongue. When she came of age, she left the village in search of more than just solitude and trees. She wandered for a while, working with carpenters in river towns and building bridges and taverns in the wild frontier. Her strength and precision quickly earned her the nickname **"Stonearm,"** not just for the power in her swing, but for her unshakable demeanour. Eventually, she made her way to **[[City of Alexandria]]**, drawn by tales of a growing city in need of sturdy hands and strong backs. She helped rebuild several homes and shops after the necromancer Zargathax’s devastating attack, quietly earning the respect of locals by simply doing the work others were too broken to face. Though she never speaks of it, she personally carved the wooden beams of the **Lucky Griffon’s** new roof, working day and night to ensure it opened in time for the first returning travellers. A few years ago, while out in the woods harvesting timber, Yvette stumbled upon a goblin child caught in a bear trap, frightened, snarling, but clearly just a kid. She freed him, tended his wounds, and against all odds… decided to keep him. She named him **Spick**, and while he was skittish at first, he warmed up quickly to her steady presence and hearty meals. Spick now lives with Yvette in her modest cabin outside the city, often seen carrying tools twice his size or chattering nonsense as he tries to mimic her carpentry. Though she grumbles about him being a "noisy little twig-chewer," Yvette is fiercely protective of the goblin. Locals have grown used to seeing the odd pair around town, Spick riding on Yvette’s shoulders or clumsily trying to help with a build. Some whisper that Spick has a strange knack for sniffing out danger, and Yvette never ignores it when his big ears twitch. Despite her imposing figure and gruff tone, Yvette has a soft spot for those in need, especially the misfits and wanderers who remind her of who she once was. #### After the Jump ##### **Yvette – The Builder** Yvette took to the woods with axe in hand, leading crews to gather timber for Alexandria’s rebirth. She insisted the forests be treated with respect, replanting as often as felling. Her skill with beams and her muscle with logs made her indispensable to the goblin village and refugee housing alike. To the children, she became “Auntie Yvette,” whose laugh was loudest and whose scary campfire tales had them clinging to blankets.
