His mother, a proud [[Goliath]] chieftain, bore the strength of her ancestors, while his father, a wandering [[Storm Giants|Storm Giant]], was a legend spoken of in hushed tones. > From birth, Bhaldorus was different. Larger than any of his kin, his skin held the faint bluish tint of his [[Storm Giants|Giant]] heritage, and his presence alone commanded both awe and caution. Among the [[Goliath|Goliaths]], size and strength were virtues, but his unnatural power set him apart, a symbol of something greater, yet never quite _one of them._ ## **A Life of Expectation** > [!abstract] GUILD ARCHIVE • PERSONAL HISTORY Among the [[Goliath|Goliaths]], life was a contest, a battle to prove one's worth. Every hunt, every climb, every fight was a test. And Bhaldorus? He won every time. > At first, his victories were met with admiration, but as he continued to excel, admiration turned to resentment. He was simply _too strong._ His victories were inevitable, his power unmatched. Where was the challenge? Where was the struggle? > The elders whispered that he was not meant to walk the same path as his kin. He was _something else,_ something beyond their ways. > So, when the time came for Bhaldorus to challenge for leadership, he refused. > _"What is strength if it is only used to prove itself?"_ > Those words sealed his fate. He had been born to be a leader, a warrior, a champion of the tribe, **but he walked away.** ## **A Mercenary Among Many** > [!info] GUILD RECORD Leaving his homeland, Bhaldorus wandered south, eventually arriving in **[[City of Alexandria|Alexandria]]**, a city that thrived on adventure, coin, and contracts. Here, he wasn’t a [[Goliath]], or a [[Storm Giants|Storm Giant]]’s son. He was just another mercenary. > He joined one of [[City of Alexandria|Alexandria]]’s many guilds, an organization where warriors, thieves, and spellcasters alike took on dangerous jobs for gold. It wasn’t noble, it wasn’t grand, but it was something. And for a while, that was enough. > He spent his days taking contracts, breaking down doors, and keeping his allies safe. He was the one they sent when something needed lifting, smashing, or shielding. And then, one day, Sordia Vignti walked through the guild’s doors. ## **Meeting Sordia Vignti** > [!info] GUILD RECORD They weren’t like the usual mercenary rabble. They had no grand name, no famous reputation. But there was something about them, a way they laughed in the face of danger, fought like they had something real to lose, and protected each other like family. > Bhaldorus fought alongside them on several contracts, a city watch job here, a monster hunt there. But what struck him most wasn’t their skill or their strength. It was their loyalty. Most mercenaries took jobs and forgot each other the moment coin changed hands. But Sordia Vignti? They stuck together. > When one was wounded, they all bled. When one had a problem, they all solved it. When one drank, they all drank. > And for the first time in a long time, Bhaldorus found himself thinking, maybe, just maybe, this is what I’ve been looking for. So when they left the guild to form something bigger, something better, he followed. Not for coin, not for power, but because for the first time since leaving his home, he wasn’t alone. ## **Throwing Hammers, Throwing Hearts – Meeting Steve** > [!info] GUILD RECORD Bhaldorus never expected to fall in love. Not because he didn’t believe in it, but because he simply never thought it would happen to him. He was _too big, too different, too much_ for most people. > And then he met [[Steve Emberfoot (Diamond)|Steve]]. A [[Gnomes|Gnome]]. A [[Barbarian]]. A force of nature. It started because of [[Ellette]]. The [[sorcerer]], ever the instigator, had introduced the two of them in the most ridiculous way possible. One evening, after a long day of contracts, [[Ellette]] had crossed her arms, smirked, and declared: > _"Big Guy, meet [[Steve Emberfoot (Diamond)|Steve]]. [[Steve Emberfoot (Diamond)|Steve]], meet Big Guy. You’re both the strongest people I know. Now throw hammers at each other."_ > Bhaldorus had blinked. [[Steve Emberfoot (Diamond)|Steve]] had grinned. Without hesitation, the [[Gnomes|Gnome]] hauled a hammer straight at his chest. Most men would have dodged. Most men would have been knocked flat. Bhaldorus? He caught it, one-handed, barely flinching. Then, after a long pause, he simply said: _"Not bad."_ [[Steve Emberfoot (Diamond)|Steve]] laughed. "You gonna throw that back, Big Guy, or just stand there looking impressed?" So he did. > What followed was less of a fight and more of an absurd test of strength and stubbornness. They hurled hammers at each other across the clearing, each trying to outmatch, outlast, and outmuscle the other. > By the end, the ground was littered with weapons, and they were both out of breath, grinning like fools. [[Ellette]], watching from the sidelines, smirked. "Yeah. You two are gonna get along just fine." And she was right. > What started as a test of strength became camaraderie. What became camaraderie became something neither of them expected. One night, after a long day of fixing up the weapons of their ragtag mercenary family, [[Steve Emberfoot (Diamond)|Steve]] leaned against him and sighed. > _"You know, Big Guy… you're the best damn thing that ever happened to me."_ Bhaldorus didn’t say anything for a long moment. He didn’t need to. Instead, he picked up her perfectly crafted hammer, turned it over in his massive hands, and said: _"Guess that makes us even."_ And just like that, they were something more. ## **A Tale Was Told** > [!info] GUILD RECORD In the enchanted land of the Fae Wild, a tale was told of a barbarian named Bhaldorus, known far and wide for his immense strength and insatiable thirst for adventure. Bhaldorus hailed from the wild and untamed northern lands, where the people lived in close harmony with the mystical wilderness that surrounded them. > One fateful day, as Bhaldorus journeyed through a dense forest, he stumbled upon an ancient clearing shrouded in mystic fog. At the centre of this clearing stood a massive, weather-worn stone, upon which an ornate sword was embedded, its hilt adorned with intricate runes. > Driven by his warrior's curiosity and a thirst for a legendary weapon, Bhaldorus approached the stone. He placed his enormous hands around the hilt of the sword and began to pull with all his might. The sword resisted at first, but with a mighty roar, Bhaldorus's muscles bulged, and he summoned his untamed strength. > With an ear-splitting crack, the sword finally gave way. However, to Bhaldorus's surprise, the entire stone came loose, carried by the sword as he pulled it free. With a thunderous crash, the stone plummeted to the ground, sending tremors through the earth. > Bhaldorus, panting heavily, stared at the enormous stone now gripped tightly in his hands. "Well," he grunted, "I didn't expect that." > With the Stonebreaker Hammer in hand, Bhaldorus continued his adventures in the Fae Wild, using his newfound weapon to crush foes, shatter obstacles, and protect the land he loved. The weapon had an uncanny ability to adapt to his needs, allowing him to swing it as a mighty hammer or use it as a formidable sword when the situation called for it. > Word of Bhaldorus and his unique weapon spread throughout the [[The Feywild|Feywild]], and soon he became a legendary figure in his own right. Tales were told of the barbarian who had pulled a sword from a stone, only to take the stone with it and call it a hammer. Bhaldorus's strength and courage became the stuff of legends, inspiring generations of adventurers to seek their own unique paths in the world.
