## **A Monster in the Ruins**
> [!abstract] **GUILD ARCHIVE • PERSONAL HISTORY**
>Race: Death kiss ([[Beholders|Beholderkin]])
>Before Sordia Vignti made their keep a home, it was nothing more than a crumbling ruin, a relic of a forgotten war. The walls were broken, the halls filled with debris, and something, something hungry lurked beneath the stone.
>
That _something_ was Rasp. A Death Kiss, born from the dying madness of a long-forgotten [[Beholders|Beholder]], he had been left behind when the world moved on. The ruins had been his cage.
>
For years, he drifted in the dark, whispering to himself, feeding on whatever dared to stray too close. Rats, birds, even the occasional fool who thought the ruins were safe. He knew nothing beyond hunger, beyond lightning and fear. Until they arrived.
## **The First Encounter**
> [!info] **GUILD RECORD**
>When [[Ellette]] and Sordia Vignti first entered the ruins, they expected dust, echoes, maybe a few old traps. Instead, they found him. Rasp struck like a storm.
A blur of tendrils, snapping jaws, and crackling electricity, he descended upon them, his hunger sharp and endless.
>
The battle was brutal. The ruined walls shook with the force of magic and steel. Every strike [[Ellette]] landed was met with a flash of lightning, every spell Morgar cast was answered by a scream of rage.
>
But Rasp was alone. And he was losing.
The moment came when [[Ellette]] could have ended it. Her fire flared, her blade lifted but she didn’t strike. Instead, she saw something in him. Something wild. Something desperate. Something that reminded her of herself. So instead of killing him… she tamed him.
## **The Storm That Stayed**
> [!info] **GUILD RECORD**
>At first, Rasp didn’t understand.
This _not-food_ didn’t run. She didn’t fear him. She didn’t strike the final blow.
Instead, she spoke. She fed him. She challenged him.
>
And slowly, he learned. She was strong. She was fire, and he was storm. And he was hers now. He stayed. Not because he had to, not because he was bound by magic or chains but because, for the first time, he had something more than hunger.
>
He had **[[Ellette]].**
>
And when Sordia Vignti rebuilt the keep, he stayed with them. Watching. Protecting. Hunting because this was home now.
Once a monster. Now, a protector. Because [[Ellette]] said so.
