> Eladra Sylora's familiar, A venerated Druid known as the "Moss Veil", gifted with awakening for years of companionship and reliability.
For decades they helped local farmers, cured wounded villagers, protected and enriched the forests and brought comfort to those they met. A courier bearing a royal seal arrived, his druid mistress was called away and never returned despite her loving promise to be back. He tended to her tower, her cottage and her gardens, until one day, a friend of the family returned with her sundered staff.
Leaving Heningfos heartbroken, he vowed to find those responsible for removing a kindness from the world.
The Mossveil was respected & well-connected among local fey, druids, & mercantile guilds, and the noble house saw her as an intermediary to soothe tensions or strike an uneasy alliance. Her presence was a gesture of goodwill.
However, A hidden faction or political rival sabotaged the summit, leading to her death.
A scholar, wizard, or advisor from another noble family with a grudge, hiding behind their own ignorance or arrogance sought to undermine the house’s goals, not realizing their interference would lead to death. They tampered with a ritual & spread misinformation, unintentionally causing chaos and not just the loss of a royal heir, but the death of Eladra.

The loss of the Hand haunted Kyo more than any wound upon his body. It was not only a relic slipped into darkness, but a personal failure,an omen that he had missed, a weapon he had not prevented from falling into evil hands. He grew quieter in the weeks that followed, withdrawing from the laughter and warmth of his companions. When the others built, he vanished.
**A Month in Silence**
He disappeared into the wilds without farewell, ghosting away from road and settlement alike. For a month, he lived among rivers and stone, sleeping beneath canopies of pine and waking to the breath of mountains. There, he remembered why he had begun to walk this path: the circles he had sworn to protect, the bonds of nature, the simplicity of survival.
But still, silence was not enough. He needed answers.
**Voices of the Mossveil**
When his solitude could no longer steady him, Kyo sought an old chapel where the veil between worlds ran thin. There, through barter,healing the sick, repairing broken beams, foraging herbs,he earned the right to commune with the dead. He spoke with the Mossveil, not as one who interrogates, but as one who longs for counsel. Their words, fleeting and cryptic, gave him little in strategy but much in resolve: that his strength was not in preventing all loss, but in refusing to yield before the tide.
**The Hunter of Shadows**
Reforged by that communion, Kyo returned to the living world with new purpose. He became a scourge upon the minor cults and cells responsible for the Mossveil’s passing. Moving like a phantom through alley, glen, and ruin, he hunted them with a merciless focus. Some he broke for information,his voice low and cruel as the screams echoed in the dark. Most, he executed. He culled their numbers, left their corpses hidden in shallow graves or sanctified earth, and returned again and again to ensure no one rebuilt their nests.
His presence became a whispered terror among Zargathax’s lesser followers: a hooded figure that came in the night, a silent avenger who left no trace save blood and ashes.
**Study and Expansion**
Between hunts, Kyo did not rest. He threw himself into study, into sharpening his magic. Whether seeking greater holy power to scour the unclean, or diversifying with storms of fire, lightning, and ice, he expanded his arsenal. Armour was tested and replaced,lighter, stronger, enchanted by craftsmen and reforged by his own hand. He knew the battles to come would demand more than resolve; they would demand overwhelming force.
**The Shadow War**
As his skills grew, so too did his scope. Kyo turned his eyes toward the greater threat: Zargathax and Vecna. He could not hope to defeat them outright, but he could _frustrate_ them, bleed their strength, and stall their ascendancy.
He struck where the enemy thought themselves safe. He cut down mid-tier agents who funneled influence upward. He raided caches hidden in ruins and wilds, seizing relics, scattering supplies, and burning whatever knowledge could not be moved. Where he found innocent folk at risk, he shielded them,sometimes with enchanted wards to hide them from scrying, sometimes by smuggling them far from danger. But when he found the wicked, or those too enthralled to be swayed, his mercy was absent. More than once he left their bodies hidden beneath the floorboards of holy places, cloaked in sanctified wards, ensuring no dark eye could find them.
**A Guardian Unseen**
Thus, while the world rebuilt itself under brighter banners, Kyo became something else: a shadowed guardian, waging his own solitary war. His name was not sung in the markets, nor honoured in council chambers. But because of him, leads were lost, advantages withered, and the hand of Zargathax grasped less tightly.
He had become quieter, yes,but only in voice. In action, he had become a storm that would not rest.
