- We enter a crumbling chamber, lined with twelve masks in the visages of forgotten demons and gods - all bearing different emotions
- A raised platform in the centre holds an unlit brazier
- The walls pulse, as if watching
- There is a locked door on the far side of the room
- The plinth in the centre of the plaform is covered in carvings
- Murals on the walls depict the mythology of ruined cities, and ancient gods of forgotten pantheons. Each sequence of pictures has a mask in front
- The murals seem to depict a battle of ancient gods. A voice in Orlan's head speaks "the one who bears no name may pass. Not the mourning nor the mirthful nor the marred. The mask of self, uncarved, opens the way"
- Each mask has a word engraved on its inside, but they are all blurred by the aura holding them aloft
- There is an ivory mask, a bronze, clay, a crimson, a black, gold, two faces, stone, porcelain, green, blackened and a bluish one
- The clay mask has no eye sockets, on the back is written "the blind oracle"
- The crimson mask is tusked and inscribed with "the red god"
- The two-faced mask has a smile on one and a frown on the other, inscribed "Twin faced"
- The ivory mask has carved tear trails "the weeping mother"
- Bronze mask, grinning - "the laughing trickster"
- The smooth obsidian mask is the faceless
- The gold mask has bird motifs and is the feathered lord
- The stone mask is the cracked judge
- The porcelain mask is small and eerie an known as "the pale child"
- Green mask is scaled and is "the serpent"
- The blackened mask is burned and known as "the flame mask"
- The blue one is wavy and inscribed "the dreaming one"
- Orlan can sense that all the masks are magically trapped and slightly empowered in some fashion
- There is an engraving of someone on their knees, their neck craned upwards and their hands covering their face on the plinth
- This person appears to be putting a mask on
- There seem to be five key moments in the murals
- Five masked priests bow before a black robed figure with no face
- A faceless god enters a glowing doorway
- A masked woman weeps as a trickster laughs behind her
- Twelve masks around a centre flame but only one glows silver
- A faceless figure is the only one to pass through the veil
- Attempting to light the brazier is unsuccessful
- Kyo places "the faceless" on his face while standing on the plinth. A staircase appears around its base - providing us a way forward
- In the next room, a carved disembodied mouth appears
- "The forces of water oppose you in this room, only those who carry a gift shall pass"
- The mouth vanishes and the temperature noticeably drops. There is a sealed, watertight door with faint sloshing sounds on the other side
- The room fills with chest height water
- Towards the door, underneath the water is a pedestal with a floating trident inside
- Both Orlan and Kyo notice that something invisible is disturbing the water
- Detect Magic causes Orlan to sense a large number of Water Elementals
- The trident is gold and appears to be well maintained
- Graxen attempts to grasp the trident but is snatched away by the Elementals
- Orlan offers the Elementals a gold coin and pours out holy water - this causes the trident to raise and a way forward appears
- Graxen is returned to the party.
- There is a console with flashing buttons, a low chime sounding somewhere within the walls
- A large control panel, with a raised dais. 12 buttons, 3 sliders and a rotary dial
- Kyo turns the dial, there is a hiss of radio static
- A second turn brings forth alien voices
- A third turn causes the sound of bleeping
- A forth turn brings forth a friendly voice but it is not comprehensible
- A fifth turn brings it back to static
- The buttons are a red hexagon, green triangle, blue circle, black square, yellow circle, silver oval, white rectangle, orange star, purple square, small green square, red circle, pale blue diamond
- The sliders
- left has four options
- The centre has six
- The right has seven but is currently set to the middle
- The yellow circle button turns off the lights
- The orange star turns the lights back on while turning the ceiling into a magnet
- Ellette, Kyo, Graxen and Orlan are all pulled upwards
- The pale blue diamond issues a click, but appears to have no effect
- A magic comes from the red and black buttons - evocation
- The green triangle almost opens the door but it does not move
- In the corner of the room is a crumbled up piece of paper covered in blood
- In common, "Green triangle open? Siver = screen?? Red, bad. Set middle bar to three, door might open? I think they understand us. The machine speaks"
- Setting the middle bar to the third setting and then pressing the green triangle opens the door
- There is a pod in this next room
- The pod seems to be turned off
- The small green square has no effect
- The silver oval turns on a screen and issues a screeching distress beacon. Machines in the next room begins to build robots. The small green button halts this process
- Lowering the right slider seems to control the temperature and the gravity
- Pressing the white rectangle turns on the screen - showing us a corridor
- The blue circle causes a hum to start in the room with the pod
- The pod is now glowing
- Orlan approaches the pod, which opens
- The purple square causes a voice to boom from the console. It seems to be threatening us
- Ellette gets into the pod, it closes on her and begins to gas her
- This heals her
- The door through to the other side slides open
- The next room is the ziggurat
- Heat strikes us as we enter a cavernous chamber
- A floating black ziggurat is in the centre of the room in a large bubble with weapons floating around it
- There is a flame tongue sword, frostbrand, trident of fish command, spear of backbiting, greataxe, dagger, longbow, morningstar, warhammer
- Orlan is a virgin
- Entering the bubble causes it to close behind us
- There is a plaque on the zigarote, written in Draconic. "Nine arms reach but only one bears truth. One sings with the sea, the others bring only death"
- Grasping the trident raises the zigarote towards the exit
- The next room is the queen of the demon web
- There are shimmering portals at either end of a corridor - held aloft by spider webs
- The corridors are made of silvery black web metal
- The first corridor is passed by continuing to the option straight in front, this brings us to a corridor with 5 options - one extra than the last
- The correct path is the 4th
- This brings us to a corridor with 6 options, where we take the 5th path
- This brings us to another cross roads with four options, different to the first one we entered
- The 4th option is correct, bringing us to a darkened room with six corridors
- The 6th path is correct, bringing us to another with six corridors
- Kyo is able to find a faintly bright glow from the entrance we came through, we head back through this portal - which brings us to nine corridors
- The eighth corridor brings us to ten corridors
- The eighth is again the correct answer - bringing us to twelve corridors
- Graxen and Steve begin to wander towards one of the corridors, unknowingly compelled by the voice of a sweet sounding woman
- Two of the portals in this corridor glow faintly - Orlan picks the tenth door. This brings us to a room with twelve portals
- We make it through all of the rooms
- The final puzzle is the great hall of spheres
- A long, dark corridor with a strange pattern along both sides - ten spheres on either wall
- There are three doors at the far end - red, black and grey
- Each of the speheres on the wall is a different colour
- Kyo finds a pathway behind the grey sphere
- Following this path, he arrives at a fork
- Passing through a number of forks he arrives back where he started
- Steve enters a path behind the crimson sphere, panics as she feels her body begin to solidify, and flees back to the start
- Orlan opens the grey door, finding a portal on the other side
- The black and red doors all have portals on the other side
- Graxen tries the red tunnel, but flees as fire almost engulfs him
- Ellette tries the pink tunnel but freezes in a feeling of dejavu she cannot sense
- Steve enters the black path, almost plummeting to her death - but Graxen pulls her back with a rope tied around her waist
- Kyo enters the bronze path - finding a library
- Kyo enters the olive path, pressing onwards despite the sudden feeling of suffocation
- He retreats
- Ellette enters the violet path, finding a large room with a planar rift inside. She throws a copper coin in, causing the planar rift to close
- Graxen enters the pale blue path, but is pulled back by Steve right before he tumbles into a sphere of annihilation
- Orlan enters the white path and finds a large horde of teasure, with a sword sticking out of a chest
- In the green path, Orlan finds a piece of parchment that says "the doors lie, the wall breathes truth. The way is found where paint is mute"
- The gold path leads out of the puzzle
