We wake up from our stay in the Lucky Griffin Eating breakfast and discussing the quest given to the team by Ellette to recover a relic from ruins between Neverwinter and Alexandria.
Lucan tries to get advice from Quintin who simply tells them "Don't fuck it up".
The relic is a weapon that used to belong to a member of Sordia Vignti. Quintin advised people who have touched the relic have changed, some have died, some speak languages they didn't know. At the location three members of Sordia Vignti.
There was a Death Tyrant in the ruins before it was removed. 50 gold coins each upon completion and we may keep any other items found.
The equipment needed is by the font gate on the cart. We gather rations for the journey that will take three days.
Lucan and Beibhinn argue over swords being better than potions from (Fizzle)
4 potions - white brown yellow gold - Beibhinn buys them from Fizzle.
Vaerilyn buys a bedroll
We meet a guild member at the gate, the coffer must remain closed once it is sealed.
Lucan, Beibhinn and Dallea get attached to the horse a bay mare they named Michael.
Vaerilyn just climbs into the back of the cart. Dallea and Bebheinn also sit in the back. Lucan drives the cart.
The first place we pass through is Luskan.
Béibhinn warns Lucan to not offend anyone here so we don't cause any trouble.
The group begins to brother bear on their journey.
- Lucan believed he would grow up to be a humble knight of the Axe of Mirabar when he was a child.
- Lucan would wish for his family to be alive again ("I thought you would wish to not be a coward" - Dallea )
- Dallea's greatest fear is dying poor.
- Vaerilyn's last words to the party if she were dying "You might as well kill yourselves"
- Dalleas useless weird talent is balance her dagger on the tip of her finger. The party are kinda impressed.
- Béibhinn would probably be married and with child and her family, helping the poor if she wasn't an adventurer
- Vaerilyn's biggest regret is distracting her father during the fight in Luskan causing him to be impaled instead of her
- Lucan believes the first impression he leaves on people is him smelling bad.
- Entire parties motivation for motivation instead of going home
- Dallea - "to have enough stories to tell before I die"
- Béibhinn - "Helping people"
- Lucan - "to rebuild my house"
- Vaerilyn - "I have no family so I'm just trying to build a life"
We pass through Luskan with no issues as it gets darker we plan to set up camp for the night. Béibhinn and Dallea go to gather sticks for the fire.
Vaerilyn offers to stay up for the night to allow the party time to rest she will sleep in the cart tomorrow.
There are howls in the distance but nothing of great concern
In the morning Dallea becomes paranoid someone was looking through her bag in the middle of the night Vaerilyn informs her she was cuddling it and calling it "John" during the night and arguement occurs
"You don't know if the priest isn't murdering woman"
"How dare you questing the faith!"
"Your faith won't buy me new armour!" - Lucan
"The gods did nothing to help my village they just laughed!"
Béibhinn and Dallea get very personal mocking each others parentage. A fight kicks off and Lucan looses his temper ordering them to get in the cart. They both get in the cart.
Vaerilyn is asleep in the cart the entire time.
Lucan notices blood trails on the side of the road. The party debate what they should do. Béibhinn and Lucan haggle for a health potion. She pays him 24 gold for the potion. Lucan remembers they cost 25gp each and isn't too mad about it.
We make it to the ruins, there are 4 human bodies outside. Lucan investigates them, it looks like their injuries are from a sword and one of their hearts is missing. There's a few empty pouches they were pre looted. There is only one entrance.
Vaerilyn did not get a full rest. Only 4 hours.
The entrance is a long tunnel. Dallea leads the way into the tunnel.
"Ill bring you to a witch and make you an elf" -Dallea
"And I would kill myself" - Lucan
There are unlit torches along the walls, Dallea lights them using fire bolt. The room is completely ruined. There are two chests either side of the entrance and the weapon is by a fallen pillar in the middle of the room.
There is a trigger on the chest Vaerilyn is inspecting she disarms the trap and opens the chest, there's a golden crown in the chest on a cushion in the chest, it is heavy with a few gems inlaid in it.
Nothing seems to be out of the ordinary for the locked chest Dallea is looking at. She tries to use her dagger to break the lock on the chest. She breaks it off and opens the chest, *click*, she is hit by arrows. There's a bag inside, she picks it up, *click*, More arrows. She opens the bag and it is filled with a fine powder like sand. It's somewhat glittery. Vaerilyn takes some of the dust, rubbing it between her fingers, it smells like a mineral and is grainy.
Lucan walks forward looking around the room, he doesn't notice any immediate danger. There's some mounds on the ground. He walks around the pillar and finds a very pretty war pick, astral sea blue, it has a faint glow off it, the handle facing up from the ground. It doesn't feel very natural to the material plane, it's very clean despite it's surroundings. Lucan doesn't recognise the metal it's made from. He walks up, greedy blinding him and grabs the handle of the war pick.
The rest of the party hears a screech coming from the centre of the ruins, sparks of lightening go towards the ceiling. They find Lucan's body on the ground, the warpick is in his hand. Vaerilyn walks over and kicks his leg. His hand twitches, his eyes open and he stands up. He swings the war pick around, it feels natural to him.
A group of undead surface from the ground. The party begins to fight them.
Béibhinn does wiggly hands firing sacred flames towards undead. Lucan turns, pointing the warpick at one of the undead, a purple blast comes out destroying the undead.
Béibhinn notices Lucan's shadow is weird.
They dispatch of the remaining undead and the party discuss what happened
Lucan claims he fell and accidentally grabbed the warpick. Dallea and Vaerilyn don't believe him. An argument erupts between the group.
A growling voice escapes Lucan calling Dallea "Half breed"
Lucan in a rage breaks a wall. Vaerilyn casts sleep on Lucan and he passes out.
The rest of the party tie him up and drag him out of the ruins. He is tossed into the box Sordia Vignti had provided. The anti-magic field breaks the hold on Lucan and he wakes up, panicking at being in a dark box. Vaerilyn opens it and pulls Lucan out before sealing it again.
Vaerilyn begins driving home as the other three bicker in the back of the cart.
The others sleep during the night as Vaerilyn drives, she dispossess of three bandits while they sleep.
As they pass through the gates Vaerilyn turns towards the others, "You can handle dropping this off I'm going to bed." Then jumps off the cart heading towards the other
They go to the keeps entrance and Ellette meets them there.
They are in a zone of truth and cannot lie. Lucan admits he touched the warpick. Isolde approaches the group, Ellette fills her in the events of the group and she removes the spell.
Isolde retrieves the box and brings it over to the group, she places it on the ground as Béibhinn opens the box. They are testing whether or not Lucan is still held by the pick, he seems to have some lingering affects.
The party will receive 80 gp and a diamond. Dallea sells the dust to Isolde for 400gp
They have a brief discussion about them being allowed to train in the keep grounds.
Wen appears and punches Béibhinn in the knee, Isolde silences her cries.
Grubble gives her a present as she opens it, it explodes in her hand fireworks flashing in her face.
Middle tries to steal from Lucan but gets caught, Lucan holds him up and shakes him gold and jewellery falling from his pockets. Ellette tells him to bring it to Derrick so it can be returned to who owns it.
